Toni Geitani, born in Beirut in 1992 and now based in Amsterdam, navigates an expansive artistic landscape as a music producer, sound designer, composer, singer and filmmaker.
After completing his Bachelor's degree in Filmmaking, he directed his debut film The Leaves Will Bury.
In 2017, the Ashkal Alwan Video Works grant supported the production of his film The Disappearance of Goya, which was presented at international film festivals and received the Best International Short or Medium-Length Film Award at RIDM.
Alongside his film practice, Toni holds a Master of Music in Live Electronics from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. His master’s thesis, Sampling as a Political Medium, examines the relationship between electronic music and socio-political questions, particularly cultural appropriation and power structures within sound practices.
In music, he released the album Al Roujoou Ilal Qamar in 2018. His second album, Wahj, released in 2026, was named The Guardian’s Global Album of the Month.
Toni regularly collaborates across artistic disciplines, working with musicians, filmmakers and visual artists. His work often combines performance, sound design and moving image, using tools such as synthesizers, tape machines and software environments including Max for Live, Arduino and TouchDesigner.
